Production Sound Mixer
A production sound mixer, location sound recordist, location sound engineer or simply sound mixer is the member of a film crew or television crew responsible for recording all sound recording on set during the filming or television production using professional audio equipment, for later inclusion in the finished product, or for reference to be used by the sound designer, sound effects editors, or foley artists. This requires choice and deployment of microphones, choice of recording media, and mixing of audio signals in real time.
Qualifications
- Have their own equipement
- Have a good understanding of electronics
- Have a good working knowledge of all sound recording equipment
- Understand microphones
- Have an interest in acoustics and audio technology
- Understand the requirements of the other departments on feature films
- Be aware of on-set protocols
- Be computer literate.
- Have excellent listening skills
- Have good communication skills
- Be able to give and to accept direction
- Have good attention to detail
- Ability to make decisions under pressure
Production Assistant Intern
We are seeking hard working production assistants to join our team and gain entry-level experience. Our ideal production assistant will possess qualities such as dependability, punctuality, and resourcefulness; and professional attitude required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrative duties to include: light office work, filing, answering phones, making photocopies, completing errands.
- Possible opportunity for set work-escorting actors to and from set, helping with crowd control and lockup, giving out schedules or scripts, collecting paperwork, and managing extras.
- Package pickup and delivery, creating and distributing maps, and hanging production signs.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage time, resources, and projects on a deadline.
- Be able to work independently while also contributing in a collaborative team environment.
- Assist in video production (setup, shoot, lighting, and breakdown)
- Software experience with Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools and some Adobe a Plus
- Willingness to wear multiple hats and complete different tasks assigned by the Production Manager
- Be able to lift and carry equipment to assist with loading and unloading, approximately 50 pounds.
- Be able to work long hours on shoot days
- Be able to work under various conditions in outdoor weather
- Be willing and able to travel
- Needs to possess a reliable vehicle and clean driving record
